Project: Making MDGs Work for Cities in Asia, City-to-City Cooperation Project

Promote in-depth transfer from resource cities to beneficiary cities on frameworks and approaches for localising MDGs.

-Selection of three beneficiary cities and two resource cities among twelve applicant cities
- Development of project guidelines
- Surveys with the broad information on the MDGs status and activities in the selected cities
- First exchange from Kandy and MaRGG (Sri Lanka) to Bharatpur and Lalitpur (Nepal)

-The project only selected three beneficiary cities due to limited budget
-Implementation of exchange visits was delayed, which forced the project schedule to be extended
-First exchange visit showed a successful matching among selected cities

-Undertake two more exchange visits between cities in Sri Lanka and Nepal in the first months of 2008 and oversee the preparation of the MDGs City Profile of Nepali cities
-Speed up the cooperation between Calbayog and Sukabumi by organizing the first exchange visit
