    As the largest city in Sri Lanka formerly known as Ceylon , Colombo is the country's financial and commercial capital with a permanent resident population of 647,100 and a floating population of approx. 400,000.The city covers an area of 37.31 sqkm consisting of more than 120,000 housing stock. Colombo is dotted with interesting and important tourist attractions including colonial era buildings.
