Sri Lanka - Monsoon Badly Affects Galle - Assistance Requested

Attention CITYNET Members and Friends:

Heavy flooding has hit parts of southern and western Sri Lanka. New CITYNET member city Galle, located on the southern tip of Sri Lanka, has been badly affected by the heavy monsoon rains. Over 14,000 people have been affected. Many lost their homes and are without food. As the first step in a three part plan to respond to the disaster and improve future disaster resilience, the government of Galle is trying to gather emergency supplies as quickly as possible. After a preliminary survey of affected citizens, they ask for the items on the attached list. Any clothes would also be appreciated, as many people lost most of their material possessions. The people of Galle, HELP-O and those of us at the CITYNET Secretariat greatly appreciate any help that you can offer.
