Disaster Update - Typhoon Pepeng aftermath in Baguio, Phillipines

Typhoon Pepeng struck northern Phillipines on October 15th, causing great damage to the city of Baguio, with many casualties as a result of flooding, landslides and mudslides triggered by the heavy rain and storms.

We sincerely hope the citizens suffering from the distress of losing family members and loved ones will gain the support needed to re-build their lives.

On a citywide perspective, Baguio needs to implement the priority projects to include a) Preparation of a Drainage Master Plan and implementation of the same b) Geo hazard mapping, housing for victims and various restoration projects of damaged infrastructures.
