CDRI Capacity Building Programme Information - Updated!

The programme on "Climate and Disaster Resilience Initiative" (CDRI), introduced in 2008 by Kyoto University, CITYNET and UNISDR helps local governments and partners design comprehensive action plans to maximise the resilience of urban communities. CDRI has a wide range of components such as research, education, training and development of "City Profile" showing exisiting levels of climate disaster resilience within communities.

Overall goals
- To motivate and enable city government officials to become aware of current and future potential risks of climate-related disasters
- To initiate the development and implementation of the CAP in their own local context in order to build resilience of their urban systems and communities.

The training has three stages including online capacity-building as well as a face-to-face training and action workshop and the development and implementation of a Climate Action Plan (CAP).
