15th CITYNET Japan Forum
In response to the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami, CITYNET
mobilised its members to help support the victims - citizens and local
governments. CITYNET supported by its members has implemented various
activities in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, including the construction of
community centres, revitalization of local economy as well as dispatch of
city planners and officials.
An external review team to Banda Aceh and Sri Lanka will report the findings
of the assessment of those past activities at the 15th CITYNET-Japan Forum
to be held on 11 February 2012. The Forum will also aim to discuss how we
can support the recovery of Tohoku area from the 3.11 great earthquake and
Tsunami.
This forum is conducted as part of the Yokohama International Forum 2012
organised by Yokohama International Forum2012 Steering Committee (Yokohama NGO Association, YOKE, JICA Yokohama, ATOS, Japan Red Cross Kanagawa Branch and Supporting Union for Practical-use of Educational Resources)
