  • 概要

    Penang, also known as the Pearl of The Orient, is the most culturally diverse East Asia holiday destination. Established as a British trading outpost in 1786, it attracted settlers from throughout the region. It is in the peoples diverse cultures that result in colorful festivals and a rich variety of local food. Penang’s beaches, hill stations, historical buildings combined with modern shopping conveniences make it a tourist destination. Penang is also home to major multinational electronic factories making it the ‘silicon island’.

    Improvement of heritage precinct through the upgrading of infrastructure and pedestarinisation, example of the projects are Penang Gold Bazaar, Little India, and Upper Penang Road Projects.
    Upgrading of recreation areas such as the Youth Park, Esplanade, Relau Metropolitan Park, and also coastal beaches along Gurney Drive and Tanjung Tokong.
    Improvement of public transport and shuttle bus, traffic control system, and road classification.
