Secretariat

The Secretariat coordinates the programmes and institutional activities of CITYNET responding to the members' needs. It is headed by the elected and honorary Secretary-General and subsequently, the Secretary-General reports to the General Council and the Executive Committee. It is currently undergoing a process of decentralisation whereby the Satellite Office in Mumbai as well as the Secretariat of National Chapters in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal and Sri Lanka serve to provide more localised services to our members.

Location:

The City of Yokohama as the President of CITYNET has hosted the Secretariat since its establishment in February 1992. They have also graciously provided support for the running of daily operations at CITYNET.


The Secretariat strives to:
  • serve all members and partners to the best of its ability
  • address needs and requests fairly and in a timely manner
  • provide and regularly assess programmes and institutional activities requested by members
  • maintain transparency and accountability in all activities
  • encourage all members to take an active role in CITYNET
