Introduction to the Secondment Programme

The Secondment Programme of CITYNET is designed to enhance capacity of staff members of CITYNET cities and organisations. One staff member from a Member city/organisation is accepted at the CITYNET Secretariat in Yokohama annually. During their tenure, the staffer gets international exposure and on-the-job training in organising city-to-city cooperation programmes.

Over the years, several CITYNET members have participated in the Programme by seconding staff to the Secretariat. Some of these are: Bangkok, Karachi, Kathmandu, Seoul, Makati, Muntinlupa, and the All India Institute of Local Self Government.

 
Eligibility

To apply for the Secondment Programme, a candidate needs to be a full-time employee of a CITYNET member city/organisation, and has to be duly nominated by his/her city/organisation.


Sponsorship

The Secondment Staff programme is jointly sponsored by the City of Yokohama and the seconding city/organisation.


Tenure

The one-year seconded visit starts April 1 and ends March 31 the following year.
