CITYNET's National Chapters in various countries were envisioned as a means of decentralising the Network to keep up with the rapid growth in its membership base. The Chapters serve several key objectives. They...

- provide a forum for CITYNET members within a country to interact and forge local partnerships.
- coordinate CITYNET programme activities at the national level.
- work as a focal point for CITYNET within the country and draw in new members by promoting the organization's vision and mission.

Four National Chapters are already in place - in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, and in Sri Lanka.
